Sometimes the hairstyle you pick out is not the right one for your dress. If you have the dress already, before the actual day of the event, it is a very good idea to bring the dress to the salon and we can work together to find the best style for you, the dress, and the occasion. Lets imagine you going to be doing a fair bit of dancing, a loose flowy style might be better then an updo. If you have a dress with lots of beading and decoration, then a simpler, more elegant style might be best.

How does your hair color look? If you are trying to cover your gray and have been coloring your hair from a box, it may lack dimension and shine. In the salon, we have products made specifically to put color and shine into your hair, with hightlights and low lights. Coloring is not just a matter of picking out a bottle of dye that looks similar to your color. I have been watching a little bit of American Idol, and for me, as a Spa owner and Professional Hair Stylist, I am more fascinated by the Hair and Makeup than the singing. I guess that because of my profession, that is just where my eyes land first!!!

Jennifer understands the affect of Beautiful Hair!!

I love both Jennifer’s and Steven Tyler’s hair. I don’t want to say for certain, but I wouldn’t be surprised if maybe Jennifer  has a hair  extension or two in and amongst all of  her own beautiful hair. She is of Puerto Rican descent, so her natural color is darker. Her hair is highlighted, to perfection for her warm skin tones, and I can tell she uses good products for her hair type.

Steven is another thing all together. His hair is all about sex appeal and fun. It seems each week he has more feathers in his hair. And Hair extensions? I am not sure about that. I am sure that he also takes very good care of his hair. It is shiny, and falls in gentle waves around his face.

Both of these stars know full well that hair is NOT an afterthought!! It is your fifth accessory!! Good shoes, Clear Skin, great smile, well fitting clothes, and GREAT HAIR.

Everyone loves to talk about celebrity hair and everyone loves to comment on their favorite celebrities new hair styles. You might have noticed that some of your favorite actresses have long flowing locks one day and then a cute short bob the next. This phenomena is what some like to call the Faux Bob. This short do is great for the everyday women when she feels like spicing up her look and a great addition to your Halloween costume.

Here are some easy steps from Bella Sugar for achieving this quick transformation:

• “STEP 1: Pull hair back into a low ponytail with a hair tie that blends in with the color of your hair. (Goody makes some inexpensive ones.)
• STEP 2: Tuck the ponytail under and secure it with bobby pins to hold your hair firmly in place.
• STEP 3: Next, pull a generous amount of hair from the tops and the sides to create the illusion that your hair is down.
• STEP 4: Lastly, curl the loose hairs with a curling iron so they shorten and look more voluminous. Mist your entire head with hairspray and then loosely pin back any extra long hairs to create an overall shorter appearance!”

Don’t be afraid to experiment with new looks! This is a great way to find out if you want that short bob or a great alternative to getting that short do.
